WASHINGTON, D.C. – Americans United for Life applauds the Supreme Court’s 5-4 decision in National Institute of Family and Life Advocates v. Becerra, protecting free speech at pro-life pregnancy care centers.
AUL’s President & CEO Catherine Glenn Foster praised the ruling, “Today is a victory for more than just the dedicated volunteers who staff pregnancy care centers; it is also a victory for the thousands of women who go to the centers seeking life-affirming care and support. AUL is encouraged by this ruling, and our legal team will continue to support the excellent work of pregnancy care centers, which provide a broad range of support from practical counseling and training to concrete resources such as diapers, formula, and baby clothes.”
Americans United for Life’s legal team filed an amici curiae (“friend of the court”) brief in National Institute of Family and Life Advocates v. Becerra on behalf of leading pro-life medical groups, including the American Association of Pro-life Obstetricians & Gynecologists, the American College of Pediatricians, and the Christian Medical & Dental Associations.
