(Washington, D.C.): Today, Americans United for Life (AUL) has joined Students for Life/SFLAction and a coalition of leading pro-life groups to ask the federal government to prioritize a debarment investigation into Planned Parenthood, stripping the abortion industry’s largest provider from receiving American tax dollars in the future.

The U.S. Small Business Administration under Administrator Loeffler has already begun its debarment investigation based on allegations of fraud, but the coalition also addresses U.S. Department of Treasury Secretary Bessent, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Kennedy and Attorney General Todd Blanche, who also have oversight of alternate funding pathways and the debarment proceedings.

John Mize, CEO of Americans United for Life, stated, “We are invested in any legal pathway to defunding abortion providers and protect both women and American taxpayers. As funds return to abortion providers like Planned Parenthood, federal authorities now have more reason than before to take allegations of fraud more seriously. Debarring and delisting Planned Parenthood is the start. Every abortion provider must follow.”

Christine Smith, Director of Investigations for the Center for Client Safety, AUL’s enforcement affiliate, added, “Abortion providers like Planned Parenthood routinely operate while reported violations of health and safety regulations go uninvestigated. Tax dollars should not be funding businesses that put women in harm’s way and federal health agencies must thoroughly investigate reports of misconduct, rerouting funding to healthcare providers that are committed to putting the safety of women first.”
