The Arizona Supreme Court affirmed the state’s jurisdiction to protect preborn life in a 4-2 decision Tuesday. Americans United for Life (AUL) filed two amicus curiae briefs in the case.

The decision comes as pro-abortion plots to ignore Dobbs fail in state courts across the country, in South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Iowa, and others.

Litigation Counsel Carolyn McDonnell said, “The Arizona Supreme Court upheld the state’s pro-life law, respecting the people’s decision, through the democratic process, to protect human life from conception. This is a great win for life and part of a longer train of pro-life victories in state supreme courts post-Dobbs.”

Samuel Green, president & general counsel at the California-based Reason for Life, said, “Today’s a great day for life in Arizona. The Arizona legislature acted to protect unborn children from the moment life begins, and we’re thankful that the Arizona Supreme Court fulfilled its legal duty to respect that decision.”
