Catherine Glenn Foster, President & CEO of Americans United for Life, issued the following statement upon the passage of the Love Life Amendment in Louisiana:

In 2020 the great state of Louisiana was number one on our annual Life List, making it the most pro-life state in the union. The great news out of this election is that the voters of Louisiana have passed the Love Life Amendment to the Louisiana state constitution. One more vital step towards a day when every child in Louisiana is welcomed in life and protected in law. Louisiana continues to stand out as a bastion of a bi-partisan, life-affirming political culture. The Love Life Amendment was passed in both houses of the state legislature with bipartisan majorities, endorsed by the recently re-elected Democratic governor, and approved by voters of all affiliation. Louisiana is a model for the country of what is possible when we put human rights before partisan strife.

Americans United for Life (AUL) is a nonprofit, public-interest law and policy organization that holds the distinction of being the first national pro-life organization in America—incorporated in 1971. It protects and defends human life from conception to natural death through vigorous legislative, judicial, and educational efforts.
