Catherine Glenn Foster, President & CEO of Americans United for Life, issued the following statement commending the 8th Circuit for allowing life affirming laws to go into effect in Arkansas following Chief Justice John Roberts’ concurrence in June Medical Services v. Russo:
“Today’s 8th Circuit Court of Appeals ruling is an important victory for unborn children and their families in the great state of Arkansas. For too long, life-saving community protections have been struck down by judges forced to apply bad Supreme Court precedent. In light of Chief Justice John Roberts’ concurrence in June Medical Services v. Russo, federal courts can follow the 8th Circuit’s lead to uphold life-affirming laws and allow the democratic process to rule over judicial fiat.”
