On February 1, 2019, Americans United for Life provided written testimony to allies in New Mexico to distribute to legislators, explaining that New Mexico’s H.B. 51 removes vital protections for the conscience rights of health care providers and that, contrary to claims made by the ACLU and other organizations, the remaining state and federal laws are insufficient to adequately protect health care providers that have a conscience objection to abortion.
