“Planned Parenthood’s Cecile Richards claims to see no evil and hear no evil and that her employees and vendors speak no evil in the Center for Medical Progress videos revealing trafficking in infant body parts, but that willful blindness changes nothing,” said AUL’s Dr. Charmaine Yoest.

WASHINGTON, D.C. (09-09-15)
— As a hearing in the House Judiciary Committee got underway examining horrific abortion practices at Planned Parenthood, the nation’s number one abortion provider, Americans United for Life’s legal team sent a letter to the entire Committee describing health risks of abortion to women and the need to limit such potentially deadly procedures. “In the Center for Medical Progress videos, we’ve seen that the body parts of infants aborted late in pregnancy make more money for the abortion industry. Once again, Big Abortion fails to protect women, who can suffer harm from such deadly procedures,” said Americans United for Life President & CEO Dr. Charmaine Yoest. “Money is all that matters to them.”

“Planned Parenthood’s Cecile Richards claims to see no evil and hear no evil and that her employees and vendors speak no evil in the Center for Medical Progress videos revealing trafficking in infant body parts, but that willful blindness changes nothing,” said Dr. Yoest. “Equally offensive is how Planned Parenthood hides the dangers of late-term abortions from the women who are sold the procedure.”

In her letter to the House Judiciary Committee, Dr. Yoest observed. “The falsehood of the abortion industry’s lie is particularly apparent when examining the evidence regarding physical and emotional harms caused by later-term abortions. It is undisputed and universally accepted that risk to maternal health from abortion increases as gestation increases. There is no debate on that fact. Scientific data from well-respected, peer-reviewed journals demonstrate the dangers inherent in abortion are increased in later-term abortions.” To learn more about the health risks of abortion to women, click here.
