The world is welcoming a new pope for the Catholic church, Pope Francis, who was chosen a few weeks ago.
Francis is the first pope from outside Europe. He is from Latin America, from the country of Argentina. So the world’s attention is turned to this part of the world.
Recently, along with lawyers and law professors in Latin America, Americans United for Life published a ground-breaking report, in English and in Spanish, on pro-life laws in Latin America, “Defending the Human Right to Life in Latin America.” The day after the election of Francis as pope, two leading Latin American pro-life lawyers, from the Pope’s home state of Argentina, sat down with AUL’s Senior Counsel, William Saunders, for a discussion of law, life, Latin America, and Pope Francis.
