Dr. Charmaine Yoest wrote the following at National Review Online:

Tonight the president did his best to work Planned Parenthood into every question; I stopped counting after he worked it into the debate the third time. The challenge is that, in general, the group has high approval ratings. This is because many people don’t know that Planned Parenthood are the nation’s largest abortion provider, doing over 300,000 abortions every year. Nor do many people know the abortion giant is subsidized with $1 million in taxpayer cash per day.

That’s outrageous. Why does an abortion business get such preferential treatment in these difficult economic times? But of course the conversation about Planned Parenthood revolved around the false “contraception” question, and that’s exactly where they want it. Again, it distracts from that pesky abortion issue. We are borrowing money from China to provide a nonprofit with a billion-dollar annual budget with over $400 million dollars a year — money that helps underwrite their abortion business.

However, one of the most bald-faced falsehoods the president asserted tonight was that Planned Parenthood’s ability to provide mammograms is on the line in this election. The truth is: Planned Parenthood does not provide mammograms. They only refer women to other clinics that can provide that service. As a breast-cancer survivor myself, I am deeply offended that the president and Planned Parenthood continue to assert that they provide mammograms when they do not.

It’s really a shame that in these debates we never get to ask a direct question to the president himself about his record on abortion. The question I’d ask if I could is this: Mr. President, is there not a single limit on abortion that you would support? Not even one?
