According to a pro-life attorney, most participants in ObamaCare insurance exchanges will officially be footing the bill for abortion.

Mary Harned of Americans United for Life (AUL) tells OneNewsNow the Department of Health and Human Services has finalized rules for state exchanges, and they do cover abortion. The individual mandate includes an “abortion premium mandate,” which requires all persons enrolled in insurance plans that include elective abortion coverage to pay a separate premium from their own pockets to fund abortion.

“So many individuals who, either by themselves or through their employers, are enrolled in insurance plans within these exchanges will be enrolled in plans that cover abortions and will thereby be forced to pay a very separate premium for abortion coverage,” Harned explains.

If such a plan is chosen, there are no exemptions for people of faith or religious institutions. And if an individual rejects insurance coverage, he or she could face a penalty.

“Practically speaking, they’re forced into enrolling in a plan that covers abortions, and then they will have to pay the separate premium that will directly pay for abortions,” the AUL attorney reiterates.
