Mr. Johnson’s tenure has exhibited a strong interest in protecting the preborn.

The election of Louisiana Representative Mike Johnson to the position of House speaker signals a strong win for the national pro-life movement. During his tenure as a Louisiana state representative, Johnson led the Shreveport-Bossier City Life March. As a member of Congress, he was one of 84 original cosponsors of the Protecting Pain-Capable Unborn Children from Late-Term Abortions Act, which would have outlawed abortion at 15 weeks of gestation.

During his first term in Congress, Rep. Johnson said, “It is our moral responsibility to defend the defenseless, and I will continue this fight while in Congress.”

Chief Legal Officer & General Counsel Steven. H Aden said, “Speaker Johnson has been a friend and colleague over the years. He is a principled man of faith and a fearless defender of the preborn. The House couldn’t have picked a better man.”
