Catherine Glenn Foster, President & CEO of Americans United for Life, issued the following statement commending OAS member states for signing on to the Geneva Consensus Declaration:
Americans United for Life stands with the Organization of American States (OAS) in their affirmation that “every human being has the right to life, liberty and the security of his person”; and that “all persons are equal before the law.” The progressive, human rights-focused leadership of the OAS is a model for nations and institutions across the globe. We will continue to advocate in partnership with the OAS “to defend the sovereign right of nations to make their own laws related to the protection of life from the moment of conception.” The OAS has taken a crucial step towards ensuring that all are welcomed in life and protected in law.
Americans United for Life (AUL) is a nonprofit, public-interest law and policy organization that holds the distinction of being the first national pro-life organization in America—incorporated in 1971. It protects and defends human life from conception to natural death through vigorous legislative, judicial, and educational efforts.
