Americans United for Life is deeply concerned by the recent judicial activism of a D.C. District Court judge, who ordered the U.S. Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) to promote abortion as a matter of policy. Under the guise of providing “notice” to potential class members in the lawsuit, ORR is forced to advise alien minors—both in writing and orally—of their “right” to abortion. This compelled notice goes far beyond notifying potential class members of the lawsuit; it forces ORR, as well as ORR-funded shelters and legal services—including those with pro-life views—to promote and facilitate abortions.
