AUL President & CEO cited in HHS’ new “Protect Life Rule”

Americans United for Life applauds the issuance tonight by the federal Department of Health and Human Services of its promised rule to restore Title X family planning program integrity by “requiring clear financial and physical separation between Title X funded projects and programs or facilities where abortion is a method of family planning.” This rule will go a long way toward getting taxpayers out of the business of funding abortionists like Planned Parenthood. The proposed rule cites (ftnt 20) a report authored by AUL President & CEO Catherine Glenn Foster detailing the dozens of public audits of Planned Parenthood affiliates that have uncovered waste, abuse, and potential fraud. “Women can do much better than Planned Parenthood,” said Foster. “Comprehensive, preventive healthcare centers outnumber Planned Parenthood 20 to 1, and that’s where women receive genuine expert care without the shadow of abortion hanging over them.”
