This morning at the Capitol Hill Club, our friends at Alliance Defense Fund honored the great jurist, Robert Bork, for, among other things, his leadership in the fight against agenda-driven judging and for an originalist understanding of our constitution.
This reminded us of the key role Judge Bork recently played during the fight over the nomination of Elena Kagan to the Supreme Court.
Judge Bork is a former Solicitor General, as was she, but he noted that her support for agenda-driving judging and the man who epitomizes it, Aharon Barak, was sufficient reason alone for Senators to oppose her.
Judge Bork joined AUL’s Sr VP Bill Saunders and Notre Dame constitutional law professor Gerard Bradley on a widely-reported telephonic press conference to discuss the Kagan nomination.
